GameShark (2009-10-11) : 5/5
This was purchased for my son's birthday. I have 3 boys and the two young ones have decided to go back and play the GBA and DS which they have not played in some time. They often got frustrated on the Pokemon games so they insisted that this GameShark would assist them. Well since it came out of the package it hasn't been removed from the GBA. They love it (maybe too much)!
Help with cheats for my son's nintendo (2009-09-24) : 4/5
it has helped my son to play nintendo gameboy games. However, it freezes from time to time.
Gameboy Advance SP Gameshark Game Codes (2009-09-07) : 4/5
Its already been very useful I love gamesharks. Easy to use menus and plenty of codes to use its a piece of cake.
Couldn't be any better! (2009-05-10) : 5/5
I have used this Gameshark at least 20 times since I bought it. Each time I played for at least 20-30 minutes. No freezes, no hangs, nothing but pure fun and it exceeded my expectations.
I hate to offend some of the review posters but it looks to me like some of these are under 16 years of age, who perhaps need a bit more experience and patience. When you buy an item like this that modifies coding in a game you have to be extremely careful what you type in.
First thing I did was go to the official Gameshark website. It says "if the gameshark gives you a warning that you have too many codes it will freeze, DO NOT PRESS START (as the Gameshark itself recommends) but turn off the game instead"
I know it is tough to deal with mislead instructions. BUT you can't go wrong when you turn the console off. If something doesn't work, or the game looks funny, DO NOT SAVE, do not turn the Gameshark off, turn the whole system off. Note that I emphasize in DO NOT TURN THE GAMESHARK OFF, I mean it, you should have no reason to turn the Gameshark off, instead turn the GBA off. This is my third Gameshark, I owned the Monster Brain and the Game Xploder. I never ruined any of my games.
After 3 years using the Gameshark 3.0 with my Pokemon Crystal game, my son and friends (about 12 years old) somehow managed to crash the game. Needless to say the Poke Crystal was fried.
Bottom line, if you don't know what you're doing, consult someone who knows how to work it. Or perhaps and adult can help you work it properly. Dealing with coding is serious business, and these games are nothing short of a micro computer. You need to do the right things otherwise they will crash.
If you are in doubt, just don't get it then, or work with a spare game.
